The two things you have to have are the TOOLS OF THE TRADE:

Can't I use FREE charts?
Can you do it? Sure. But if you are going to treat this as a business ( and that is what it is) will you risk REAL MONEY using free software that tells you almost nothing. Free charts are provided by every broker and usually they are the same as the free charting companies. You cannot do real studies, you cannot save your work and most of all you will get no real trade setups.
Free charts usually run in a JAVA network which is a very unstable environment for financial transactions and analysis and is actually one reason why they give them away...No professional would ever use them. Free charts are given away to get something far more valuable...your email address. You are a highly desirable commodity: a person who is interested in financial trading, has some money to invest, is serious enough to be actually downloading charts to play with and therefore will need a broker someday. Brokers pay big referral bucks for that type of valuable information.
